Arrest Made in Attack Near Be Bar

The MPD announced today that they arrested Robert Hanna, 18, and charged him with voluntary manslaughter in connection with the September 7 attack of two gay men near Be Bar. One of the victims, Tony Hunter, died ten days later as a result of his injuries. The arrest comes one week after MPD announced they were on the lookout for Hanna. The wanted poster described him as an 18-year-old "who is known to frequent the area around 7th and O Streets, NW."

Oh! I thought it said bear attack.

good news. if he's guilty, hopefully he'll never see the light of day again.

let the punishment fit the crime

yeah, I went there

Way to go, MPD. And 18 = no ridiculous juvenile protections.

All kidding aside. I too, am sick of all this juvie violence. These kids are out of hand and they're all over D.C. Round-em up and set-em straight. Fine the parents, grand-parents, and or guardians. We work hard every day and shouldn't be afraid of these punks. Money is not the issue. They're wearing $200 dollar sneakers and have cell phones.
It's just plain THUGISM!

RIP Tony. I have no idea how the MPD can go about solving the problem of youth partaking in this stupid violence-- I just hope some sort of preventative policy is enacted so this never happens again in Shaw.

However, MPD did not classify this as a hate crime, so at least for now the defendant isn't subject to enhanced sentencing.

kick him til his fucking face falls off.
