- At some point these giant daily market losses (and gains) start to lose their meaning. Right?
- Michelle Rhee profiled in The Atlantic, along with a q&a by our own Rachael Brown.
- A Loudoun County judge has sentenced former civil rights leader James Bevel to 15 years in prison for having sex with one of his daughters 15 years ago. Bevel was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and has been given 6 months to live.
- Apparently a temp at Howard University pulled a gun out on campus on July 25 during a dispute with the personnel office over his paycheck, and it's only come out now.
- This complete history of the use of FAIL is rather winning.

The Park Service should get a dollar for every time that fountain ends up on DCist. It is becoming ubiquitous.
