Exciting news from DCist HQ! Starting tomorrow, you'll be able to check in with DCist over the weekend and find actual new content! We've brought on occasional guest blogger and art lad Kriston Capps and DCist transit columnist extraordinaire Aaron Morrissey to be our new weekend editors. What can you expect to see on DCist on Saturdays and Sundays now? Along with our usual brand of local news and arts coverage, you'll also be treated to oddball District of Columbia history lessons, even more awesome photography, the occasional locally-themed science feature, and whatever else the warped minds of Kriston and Aaron can come up with. We'll be experimenting with what works and what doesn't for the first few weeks, so be sure to join us and let us know what you think.

If you could put these two on collating as many weekend activities (even if they're on-going exhibits that could be seen the next weekend too), you would be doing me SUCH a huge favor. I find the "Weekend Picks" lacking sometimes.
There is so much to do in this city, but it's always in fifteen hundred different websites - from one week to the next I may forget a resource for weekend fun - DCist could fill that gap relatively easy, I think.
Congratulations on launching the weekend series! That's going to be great.
Science! Excellent.
As much as I love you guys and applaud this effort, if I find myself checking DCist during the weekend as much as do during the work day I'm going to have to seriously reevaluate my life.
I look forward to the drunken weekend comments.
i think it'll be a good testing ground for new features. go DCist!
You guys have great content, but some of it comes at weird times. I count about 8 posts after approx. 4pm on Friday at the start of a long Columbus day weekend. It's great stuff, but don't you think you'd get more eyeballs if they were posted earlier in the day, and not right before the weekend? But having said that, I applaud weekend content in general, because that 60 hour gap is just way too long.
yeah!!!! i'm excited.
Thank you. Seriously.
Re: I look forward to the drunken weekend comments. (Bethesdaist)
Most of my weekday comments are drunken already. (I like to Irish up my morning coffee.) But now my weekend comments will reflect my nonstop weekend binges reflected in my comments because I have so much to say and my sentences will just run on and on and on as the amphetamines course (sp?) through my veins and I feel like I am crawling out of my sking but I just can't stop because the">http://www.imeem.com/people/E52qDzz/video/SD4jcoLI/snl_good_morning_meth_tv_video/>the shadow people are behind the couch and they're trying to get my address!
In case that link didn't work (I suck at html) here is again: http://www.imeem.com/people/E52qDzz/video/SD4jcoLI/snl_good_morning_meth_tv_video/
yay, yet another thing to flood my rss reader with...
