Frederick then goes on to accuse Obama of wanting "massive new taxes and generous giveaways to his supporters," a 25 percent cut in the military budget, to divert the bailout money to ACORN, extend "welfare for millions who already pay no taxes," and give "welfare and drivers licenses for illegal aliens - with voting rights soon to follow." More shit-whistles like this for GOP leadership, please. It's the only hope the GOP has to consolidate its hold on the votes of "old white people living in Appalachia, the Ozarks, and the barren windswept areas of the Louisiana Purchase." Surely a recipe for the Permanent Republican Majority. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party will inevitably become a regional party, isolated to "the northeast, the Middle Atlantic, the Great Lakes and upper midwest, the mountain southwest, and the Pacific states."

I heard this guy on Kojo Knamdi once. He's clearly off his rocker. It's sad that so many Republicans have really gone off the deep end. I think its going to take awhile until they eventually figure out that appealing to 7% of the population isn't going to make them a majority party again for awhile.

"The tyranny is over" - "evil, racist membership" - "racists in 'real' virginia'" I am a moderate R in Virginia who didn't vote for Obama. While this is a dead argument for now, I think you can fairly vote against him without being a racist if you're concerned about his lack of experience and his dramatic move to the middle during the general election (versus his positions in the primary). It's comments like the above which illustrate the real intolerance at work here. People who don't subscribe to a very liberal agenda are deemed racists, tyrants, and fear mongers. I agree that the GOP leadership needs to moderate, but as long as the people who offer its members "advice" do so with backhanded language and seething disdain it's never going to happen. So, DCist - either drop pretenses and admit that you're never going to like republicans unless they vote democratic or try to actually approach these issues with an open mind.

Yeah... maybe. Consider that the successful Virginia Dems would look a great deal like Repubs in the Northeast. Sure I'm an R-leaning indy who *did* vote for Obama, but bear in mind that Warner received a "pass" with the NRA and Jim Webb is hard charging to the center. Jeff Frederick should, however, take careful note of the illuminated exit signs located at both the left and right side of the theater.
