This is a big deal about nothing. Anyone willing to take bets on the likelihood that NO ONE caught TB from the driver??

My favorite part of the Post article is this:
D.C. Health Department official in charge of the city's tuberculosis program.... said, the risk that they contracted the disease, even for those who are frail or elderly, is low.

Yes, TB is communicable by spreading respiratory droplets, but it is not easy to catch.

What's with bashing WMATA? It didn't take them 2 months to notify people--more like 3 weeks.

And the last statement is pissy too. You know, it's not WMATA's role to deal with a public health problems--that's the DC Department of Health's job. Sure in a situation like this , WMATA has to work with DOH to address it, but it doesn't fall solely on WMATA.

Let Metro worry about keeping the damn trains and buses running on time, and let DOH worry about public health scares.

to answer your last question, "no"

of course, it won't stop me from riding the bus or the rails.

but it's nice to know typhoid mary's identity. she'll be surly, ill-tempered, and wearing a big old "M" on her shirt.
