Via the New York Daily News, we find our recommended daily dose of cuteness. Behold the story of 3-year-old Jaylynn Thorpe of Halifax County, Virginia. Jaylynn wandered away from his babysitter and got lost in the woods a few days ago, but was found safe and sound over the weekend thanks to two family puppies that accompanied him on his journey. The little boy told his mother that the puppies kept him warm while he slept out in the cold by cuddling up against him. Awwwwwwwwwwww.

Now, see, if those were cats, they would have just smothered him and eaten his face.
i'm calling BS on that one, monkey. i had a few cats growing up who would have jumped in front of a train to keep me or my siblings from getting hurt. cats can have one hell of a motherly instinct, and they aren't all hellions (though admittedly there are quite a few of those in the feline world).
I'm in the cat camp as well. When I was a baby we had a cat who used to go get my parents when I cried at night. When she had kittens a few months later she put them in my crib, because clearly that's where you put babies.
If you ever need help throwing one in front of a train, you got my number. The trick is to throw the catnip mouse into a pillowcase first, and when the cat follows, tie it off with duct tape. It's the same technique the Allies used to capture Mussolini.
Awww c'mon, monkey. Who doesn't like the kitties?

btw, how do you link things? i thought above url would automatically link.
My cat accompanies me on walks, and has even followed me to the bus stop in the morning. If I had a toddler I'm sure he would do the same.
Don't bother trying to link things. It only works half the time, so sometimes you end up with underlined text, but no actual link. A plain text link works 100% of the time, every time.
I'm dying of the flu. Where are some damn puppies and kittens to rescue me?
Of course, if it was a furry in a puppy costume they'd lock him up. Thank you very much Third District Court.
I had the crabcake sandwich at Market Lunch and I'm out of toilet paper. Where are my damn puppies and kittens?
I liked this story better when it was called "The Adventures of Milo and Otis."
i've never had a link not work on dcist. i don't mean to put down people's HTML skills, but it doesn't seem to be a problem for most people who attempt links most of the time.
Okay, if I can't get any puppies to cuddle with, how about some hirsute cabana boys? I swear to Bob I'm not contagious anymore. Maybe!
Bethesdaist - just go to Herndon and pick up one of those fine a$$ day laborers. http://dcist.com/2008/12/03/being_a_day_laborer_is_sexy.php
