Good-Bye, 43: The Bushes Leave Washington D.C.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama escorted former President George Bush and Laura Bush to a Marine Corps helicopter after the swearing in ceremony. The Bushes turned and waved back, and the Obamas, along with Vice President Joseph Biden and Jill Biden, waved to the departing helicopter. The Bushes were flown to Andrews Air Force base and then boarded a plane to Dallas.

Some of the sweetest words ever spoken: "Former President George W. Bush."

Great spirit of unity. Way to support the new President by being everything he does not want to be.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

This is a beautiful and exciting day for our nation, and as I look forward to fresh ideas and new ways to approach problems, I stand in grateful appreciation to a man who endured a tremendous amount during his service to our country--and much of it was given by his own countrymen.

Sorry, mom... Can we come out of our rooms now?

Take your lame trolling elsewhere, please. Thanks.

Are you that insecure that you can't handle somebody with a different point of view?

Uhhh....sorry, I missed the connection. What exactly does this have to do with insecurities again? To clear things up, what I can't handle is 1) trolls, and 2) people living in alternate realities.

"...endured a tremendous amount during his service to our country..."
You misspelled "...almost single-handedly destroyed basic freedoms, lied to the people of the United States of America and the world, sent our youth to die so his friend's could profit wallowing in their blood, treated the Constitution as a 'fucking piece of paper', spied on the American population, created a police-state Federal Government filled with 'Yes Men' and political hacks, ignored scientific evidence with a hell-bent desire to destroy the planet, and fucked-up in more ways than anyone could have imagined..."

"Mission Accomplished, indeed"

G'Bye Dubya!

Don't let the door hit 'ya where the good Lord split 'ya!

And BTW Stacym, what exactly did Dubya "endure"? And what should we be grateful for? The fact that we were a worldwide laughingstock? That he utterly destroyed our economy? Took us into a pointless war against an enemy that never attacked us? Stood by impotently while thousands of our citizens drowned? Need I go on?

I thank God Almighty that the CINC is now a level headed, intelligent man!

Be grateful this country hasn't been attacked since 9/11.

Oh really? And that has what to do with Dubya? He hasn't done shit to make us safer.

Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day

Beyond Dubya's departure, I'm really looking forward to the absence of the many cloying Dubya minions who were an unwelcome presence in our city for eight years.

Amen. Let the legions of Monica Goodlings recede into the Texas swamp from whence they came.

Hundreds of people around me on the Mall gave the helicopter the finger as it flew overhead.

And when CNN showed the plane taking off at Andrews, the whole bar erupted in cheers.

there are people who hate bush, and those who don't. after eight years, no one's mind is about to be changed here, ya know?
