The Capitals have launched hockey's first official website for female fans. The web site mixes player stats and bios with videos depicting the personal lives of Capitals players, dreamy headshots and, of course, shopping.

As February draws to a close and the National Hockey League prepares for its March trade deadline, the Capitals are in second place in the Eastern conference. To prepare for the playoffs, the team should look to acquire a two way defenseman to help limit goals against and bolster the already formidable power play. At this exciting time, female fans will be thrilled to finally learn that, while tough defenseman John Erskine's hobbies include hunting, golf and fishing, his favorite Washington tourist attraction is the National Zoo.

But that's not all, ladies! There's also wallpaper you can download for your computer, featuring various Capitals or even the team mascot. At a time when Sidney Crosby is publicly excoriating Alex Ovechkin for being much, much tougher than the puck passing Penguin, and the Caps are making salary cap savvy moves to make room for postseason help, we know that all the team's female fans can think about is how to get an ice skating eagle to show up every time they turn on their computer. Well, ladies, worry no more. Club Scarlet is here.
