Colbert Does New Bit on Voting Rights, Interviews Eleanor

Man, can't believe we almost missed this. Thanks to Loose Lips Daily for pointing out this Colbert Report bit on the D.C. Voting Rights Act. Colbert clearly loves any excuse to have D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton back on his show. Norton says on air she thinks she'll have a vote on the floor of the U.S. House within a month. Colbert then agreed to come to D.C. to accept a key to the city should she be right. We'll certainly be waiting to see if all that turns out to be true!

The two of them together are a trip.

The fact that these Colbert bits have done more to education people on DC's lack of voting representation than YEARS of lobbying is too depressing to even contemplate. If anyone needs me, I'll be on the curb drinking MD/20-20 and screaming at my shoes.

ok, the starbucksistan line was great!

wouldn't fenty be the one to present the key to the city? can she one-up him like that?

monkey, you can mix it up with 7-up and make grape-soda-flavored slammers on the curb. hour of power, my friend!

i'll be busy planning my coup de latte of starbucksistan.

If the DC Vote folks are smart, they'll register www.starbucksistan.com right now. That's if.

Would Norton automatically become Representative. Wouldn't we have to have a new election? We elected her as delegate, this would be a different job. I mean, she'd surely win, but it seems more legal.

enh + stc = ecstacy

can't lie. they bring out the best in each other.
