Crystal City, Oo La La!

Perhaps you don't think sexytime when you think Crystal City. You might be possessed of a fundamental misunderstanding of what Crystal City—or sexy—is all about!

Last night Crystal City set out to set the record straight. As part of the Crystal City Business Development's ongoing Crystal Couture fashion event, the city held a lingerie fashion show in a cavernous undeveloped Arlington storefront space. About 10 vendors from NoVA and the District sold clothes, jewelry, underwear and lingerie, while maybe 100 attendees shopped and boozed — with proceeds from the drink sales going toward Pajama Program.

Katie Greenan, who was tending the booth for Arlington boutique Gossip on 23rd, said that the fashion series was "breathing a different kind of life into D.C — a different kind of spunk." That comment might be considered in a literal sense by shoppers who visited the booth by Dascha Boudoir, who sold clothes for the scantily clad as well as a variety of shall-we-say marital aids that are probably not legal in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Two of the more unique, only-in-D.C. designers were Eco-conscious jeweler Smith Parada, whose jewelry features recycled gold and ethically sourced gems, and lingerie boutique Lailides, who emphasize petite size ranges.

Dancers from the innocuously named Crystal City Restaurant and other models were on hand to showcase local lingerie designs and offerings, sporting the runway as a DJ provided the appropriate oonce-oonce-oonce. (DCist's own Nats fanatic Charles Gray took the T to model men's pajamas.)

There was some hilariousness when the prize for best pajamas was awarded, as the hosts decided on a couple (pictured). The lady got a gift certificate to the Full Cup, where, as the emcee explained, "it's all about making sure those bras fit like they ought to." The fellow got a gift certificate to Crystal City Restaurant, "where they have great steaks."

Pictures from the runway follow. Might be too sexy for your screen!

My dad has always maintained they do have great steaks. Apparently it was a "popular" lunch spot when he used to work in CC.

..the fashion series was "breathing a different kind of life into D.C — a different kind of spunk."

I don't think I even need to make a joke here.

Yeah. Too easy, even for me. And I'm easy like Sunday morning; a Sunday morning that's trying to breathe spunk and gagging. Who do I have to go down on to get a towel and a glass of water?
