D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton is sponsoring her 9th annual Free Tax Fair this Saturday. IRS-certified tax preparers will be on hand to help D.C. residents who file basic returns get all their ducks in a row and get their taxes done right. You can go to Norton's web site to download a flier about the event, but the basic details are these: Saturday, February 14, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Washington Convention Center (801 Mt. Vernon Place NW.) Don't forget to bring all of your relevant tax forms, last year's return, your photo ID and a blank check to set up direct deposit for your refund.

that reminds me...does anyone know of a good tax advisor/preparer in the District? I'm ready to hand over the job to someone who knows what they are doing and who can try to get me some of me money back.
Her name is TurboTax.
9th annual?
She had only 'forgotten' to pay taxes for 7 years. Her repentance is done.
You know, she would make a great obama appointee...
I never understand why public officials like Barry and Norton get so much criticism for not paying taxes. Nobody cares about how well George Steinbrenner can hit a baseball or if Larry Flynt has a huge dong.
Why does EHN have tax days separate from the DC EITC campaign?
If you go, tell Marion Barry I said, "HEY!"
there have to limits to what they'll do at this, right?
like, they're not going to help me figure out the best way to redirect my ill-gotten capital gains into an offshore tax haven, right?
