Presidents Race Tryouts Scheduled for President's Day Weekend

Just when you thought the campaign season was over ... via Let Teddy Win, we're reminded that the Washington Nationals are once again holding tryouts to become a racing president. The tryouts take place over President's Day weekend, on Sunday, February 15, but you can't just show up uninvited (they're closed to the public). To be asked to participate in the tryouts, you must first submit a cover letter, resume, and recent photo (that one has us puzzled, since the job means wearing a 12-foot tall costume) to entertainment@nationals.com. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on February 9. Those invited to the tryouts will be sent more details.

Let Teddy Win tells invitees to be prepared to "run, dance and show their celebration skills." The Nats say they are looking for "energetic individuals, between 5'7" and 6' 6" in height, with the ability to run from right field to home plate while wearing a 45-lb costume, and who are available for at least 40 percent of Nationals home games." (We're sure you already planned on attending 40 percent of the Nats games anyway.)

And if you're still not sold, consider the promotional tagline on the Nats' website: "Not since the Beatles have four idols taken the nation by storm. Here's your chance to run in the footsteps of giants."

So audition. You'll be the coolest thing -- by far -- at Nationals Park this summer. Just try not to bite the big one the first time you try on one of those giant heads.

it's strange, then, that teddy isn't running with the rest of the presidents included in that video. guess he doesn't have to practice since he'll never win.

What the hell am I supposed to put on the resume? That I was a giant robot for Halloween?
