Good morning, D.C. Most of us are still trying to wrap our heads around what happened last night at Solly's on U Street, when a taxi plowed into the side of the building. It's a minor miracle -- one we're grateful for -- that no one has come out of the ordeal with any serious injuries. DCist will be sticking with the story all day; if more details come to the surface, we'll keep you updated.

Around the horn this morning:

>> Well, now how are they supposed to waste time? The Post reports that the state of Maryland has blocked access to Facebook and MySpace on General Assembly computers, because of virus concerns. (Hey, at least they weren't so draconian as to block certain Google services.) Of course, this isn't groundbreaking or anything -- plenty of workplaces have banned such social networking sites. But you can at least enjoy the quotes with gems like:

"This is like China," said Sen. James C. Rosapepe (D-Prince George's).

Congrats, Senator -- you've certainly gotten your "Best Quote of 2009" entry in early this year.

>> An Alexandria pharmacist receives six and a half year sentence for funneling over 5,000 Oxycontin pills to drug dealers.

>> You know, I couldn't help but read this sweeping piece of narrative reporting about southern Maryland's illegal rockfish trade and think about what the Coen brothers could do with it. Perhaps featuring Steve Buscemi as the weaselly rockfish dealer? (C'mon, you tell me Buscemi wasn't born to play a guy who makes a living by illegally trafficking rare fish for $500 a transaction.)
