Too bad it's not hot and sunny still today... tonight is 31 Cent Scoop Night at your local Baskin Robbins, from 5 to 10 p.m. All proceeds go to the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program, which helps firefighters teach kids about fire safety and inspires kids to become firefighters in the future (who doesn't love sounding the siren?). Individuals are limited to three 31 cent scoops rather than the 10 from last year.
Pick up your scoops at stores near the Woodley Park, Columbia Heights and Eastern Market Metro stations, as well as the GWU campus and Dupont Circle locations. For more options, you can use their store locator.

I'd like to meet the chunkingtons that got the full 10 scoops last year. That's ridiculous.
It was better when Ben & Jerry's had their recent free scoop. Because "BJ-ocalypse" sounds a lot better then "BR-ocalypse."
They've already used this one, so my list needn't be expanded. Although a BJ-ocalypse would definitely be new, and not necessarily pleasant.
Next time they have a giveaway, they should call it "Free BJ Day."
They've got a lot of nerve throwing this party when they haven't even cleaned up after the last Lactose Intolerancepocalypse. Did they ever get rid of that farty sour milk smell?
I'm confused, shouldn't they charge full price if it's a fundraiser? Or is their goal to donate LESS money to the charity than they could on any any hot summer evening?
