Police Asking for Help in Locating Sexual Assault Suspect

Both Third District Commander George Kucik and MPD community relations coordinator Marco Santiago sent out messages to police email lists in the last 24 hours imploring residents to exercise caution and keep an eye out for a suspect who committed a home invasion and sexual assault early Monday morning on the 1500 block of Marion Street NW (NB: Kucik and Santiago both initially mistyped the address as the 1300 block of Marion, but it's really 1500).

Kucik wrote that early Monday morning at approximately 3 a.m., an unknown subject entered a home in the 1500 block of Marion St. NW and committed a sexual assault before fleeing (he also stole some property). The suspect, described as a medium complexioned black male in his late 20s, 5'10", wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, may have entered through an unlocked door. Kucik reminded residents to ensure doors and windows are locked at night, and to call 911 if you see any suspicious subjects in the area.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIM[E] (1-888-919-2746). You can also text the department's anonymous tip line by messaging 50411. A $1,000 reward is currently being offered for information leading to the arrest of this suspect.

Kucik and Santiago mistyped the address and you mistyped Santiago's firs name. It's Marco, not "March"

Holy Shit I used to live on Marion St. back in the day.
