That there is some choice graffiti, documented by kobito. So, what the hell does that mean? Is it an honest-to-goodness public service announcement or a sort of vaguely sarcastic effort to reclaim the word AIDS from its tragic connotations? You see groups like AIDS Wolf and Black Nasty doing this reclamation work, citing AIDS in experimental and even comic gestures. And I'm sure there are more out there lurking in places like Portland, Oregon. Of course, maybe I just have it wrong, and Cat AIDS is a severe problem in Dupont Circle.

By the way, cats can in fact get AIDS.
As Virginia pointed out, cats, can in fact get AIDS. In exactly the same sort of way that humans contract HIV, cats can contract FIV, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, which in turn leads to the cat's immune system being wiped out and contracting more serious medical problems that its body cannot stave off, i.e. full blown Cat AIDS.
A friend of mine in Mt. Rainier works to spay and neuter feral cat colonies, and every one of the cats coming in gets tested for FIV. If the cat tests positive the cat cannot be released back into the wild, it cannot be sold or given away, and unless the person who captured the cat has an ethical restriction they will most likely euthanize the cat to prevent the spread of infection.
As Debbie Downer will unhappily tell you, feline AIDS is the number one killer of cats in America.
Not obesity?
Or a sedentary lifestyle?
Ain't nothing sedentary about my cats. 250MPH around the house at bedtime.
I mean, I realize cats can get AIDS. But the fact alone does not explain the graffiti.
It used to say CAT GRIDS, so at least this is an improvement.
Get the facts. What you don't know could kill you. Well, not you. Your sexually active cat.
