Tuesday:
» "Biggie vs. Tupac" is the theme for tonight's editon of DJ 2-Tone Jones' "Vs." party. His set with DJ RBI will take place at Almaz (1212 U Street NW). $5, 9 p.m.

Wednesday:
» The Words Beats & Life organization kicks off a series of hip-hop events with D.C.'s Asheru & The ELs (pictured), Mohammad Yahya (U.K.), Poetic Pilgrimage (U.K.), Kooley High (North Carolina), and Omar Offendum (Syria). The show takes place at St. Stephen's Church. $10 in advance/$15 at the door, 7 p.m.

» Bohemian Caverns' "Rhythm n' Soul" series returns with local singer Teisha Marie taking the stage. $10 in advance, 8 p.m.

Thursday:
» Bowie State University's Martin Luther King Building will play host DFPA Spring Arts Festival 2009 and its AUDIOVISION III: ALT-SOUL/HIPHOPE event. Taking part will be vocalists Bial Salaam and Tamara Wellons, among others. Free, 3 p.m.

» It's been some years since "Luchini," but Camp Lo is still in the game. The duo will be at Liv with the Sound of the City band. $15 in advance, 8:30 p.m.

Friday:
» Again, Words Beats & Life will be hosting an event at St. Stephen's Church. This time, it's Top Notch: 1-on-1 B-Boy/B-Girl Battles. Dancers will be bringing their best in an attempt to win a cash prize. $5, 7 p.m.

Saturday:
» He was here during Inauguration Weekend and now he's back. British DJ Norman Jay will be bringing his "Good Times" set to the Eighteenth Street Lounge for a special show. $TBA, 9:30 p.m.

» Fans of vinyl in the D.C.-area were left reeling after DJ Hut announced it was shuttering. "Hometown Heroes" will honor several of the stores DJs by having them spin electronic music at the Trinidad and Tobago Association (5123 Georgia Avenue NW). $5 before 11 p.m./$10 before 1 a.m./$15 after 1 a.m., 10 p.m.

Sunday:
» Three Stars alum Flex Mathews will be at Layla Lounge with DAM from Palestine, Christopolis, Omar Offendum, and Cam Jus. $TBA, 9 p.m.
