Here at DCist Storm Command Central, we're about 15 minutes away from declaring this last week an official Deluge '09 Event (loyal readers may recall the previous incarnation of this designation, Deluge '06). The latest press release from the District Department of Transportation is really pushing this decision over the top. Could Davy DCist be on his way down to DCist HQ? Check back in later to find out.

DDOT is reporting road closures, signal outages and minor flooding in spots across the city. Drivers are advised to be aware of possible flooding and detours during the day.

Flooding: There are two intersections with minor flooding.

>> Broad Branch Rd. & Brandywine St. NW
>> Maine Ave. & Independence Ave. SW

Traffic Signal Outages: At least five traffic signals are out due to lost power.

>>Franklin St & Lincoln Rd. NE
>>4th St. & Lincoln Rd. NE

Pepco is also reporting roughly 700 customers without power across the city, mostly in Southeast.

Trees and Road Updates: DDOT reports there was a downed electrical line in the 4800 block of Colorado Ave. NW, due to a fallen tree. Some road damage occurred. DDOT crews have plated the area of the road until after morning rush when repairs can be made.

Wow, those folks in SE getting bent over by the world again...

This is not the weather of the world. This is a device of Jim Moran’s making. A broil of fume he sends ahead of his host. The Impotent Orcs of Richmond have no love of daylight, so he covers the face of the sun to ease their passage along the road to war. When the shadow of their disfunctional penii reach this city, it will begin.

Monkey, you scare me. You scare me a lot. I'll never sleep again. Have a nice day, Monkey.

The 1200 block of Euclid St NW was without power this morning. I had to shower in the dark, and everybody's lights came back on just as I left my house and started walking to work, natch.
