Today in Cute Stories From the White House...

Everyone's still going ga-ga over the story of Barack and Michelle going on a date to Citronelle on Saturday night and following it up with a romantic, albeit brief, stroll around the White House grounds. They totally held hands 'n' stuff, because they love each other! Awwww.

We're also enjoying these tales of White House adorableness:

>> Despite her early misgivings, Marian Robinson, Michelle Obama's mother, is totally digging living in D.C., according to The New York Times. "And because she remains a private citizen and still has something of an unfamiliar face, Mrs. Robinson can travel around Washington without being trailed by television cameras or recognized by the public even as she enjoys the perks of living at the White House." Um, yeah! What's not to like about that living situation?

>> Courtesy CNN, Mama Duck and baby ducks love living at the White House, too (hat tip to HuffPo). Cuter than the Obamas holding hands? We think so.

I'm just glad that I can think of the President and First Lady actually doing eachother and not be totally revolted. This is the change for which I voted.

O's pulling out the old "Hey baby, let's go look at the monuments" line! Way to go.

I like line from the story

"There were no Secret Service agents right behind them — the agents stood off, in one of the rare moments that the Obamas had private space outside the White House walls."

...except for the f'ing AP photographer and his telephoto lens. Sheesh.

This screams photo-op for more hero worship. No thanks.

If he really wanted hero worship, he can easily have it arranged that a giant robot threaten the city, only to be thwarted by Presidentman and his rocket boots.

During the Bush Reign those ducks would never have been allowed on White House grounds.

P.S. @ Cassoftroy:
I think this is the opposite of "hero worship" because obviously it shows the Prez and 1st Lady as a happily married couple, therefore somewhat more relateable to the average person. If you're just jealous then I'm sorry.
