And Now, Your Post-Barbecue Reading Material

It's Memorial Day Weekend, which means that there's very little in the realm of hyper-analytical journalism out there -- and, by jeeves, that's the way it should be. That said, here's some stories to catch you up on the day's news, presented in an easily digestible format; a description which probably can't be used to describe that second hamburger and half-pound of potato salad which you just inhaled. Godspeed, fellow grillmasters!

  • Moral politician alert: Marion Barry wants to know why federal prosecutors "continue to harass and embarrass" him and calls for an investigation into their motives. (Well, Councilman, we'd assume that it's got something to do with the fact that you still owe $275,000 in back taxes and are still throwing wads of cash at things like opera coats.)
  • A trial date of May 2010 has been set for the three individuals accused of obstructing justice in the Robert Wone murder case.
  • The Post reports that some universities are considering slicing a year off of undergraduate programs to save money and time, because if there's anything that undergrads complain about, it's not having school in the summer and having to get a job after their junior year.
  • Yeah, as if you needed any extra motivation to go to the beach.

"...calls for an investigation into their motives..."
I guess the best defense is a strong offense.

I agree about the photograph. Nice Matt!

..why federal prosecutors "continue to harass and embarrass" him and calls for an investigation into their motives.

My bologna has a first name, it's r-a-c-e,
My bologna has a second name, it's b-a-i-t-e-r.

And in this case blame others for your faults.
Marion Barry is an asshole.
