Full Fort Reno '09 Schedule Announced

It's here! It's here! We got a taste of what this summer had in store earlier this week, but now the fine folks behind Fort Reno have divulged the full schedule on their snazzy new website.

You'll notice that it's only 12 shows, down from the average of about 18 the past few years. Amanda MacKaye told the Going Out Gurus that, despite rumors, this wasn't an issue with funding. The decision to truncate the schedule was made this winter as permit applications were sent in. It's still a volunteer operation run by a few people, and several of last year's shows just weren't well attended. So to combat that, this year's schedule has been shaved down a bit. Without further ado, here's the schedule:

  • Monday, June 22nd: Pash, Funk Ark, The Sweater Set
  • Thursday, June 25th: Electricutions, Meow vs Meow, Noon:30
  • Monday, June 29th: Cigarbox Planetarium, Small Doses, Batala
  • Thursday, July 2nd: Caverns, Aerialist, TBA
  • Monday, July 6th: Go Home Robot, Sea Monsters, Power Pirate
  • Thursday, July 9th: TBA, Imperial China, FFFever
  • Monday, July 13th: Poor But Sexy, Laura Zax, Formers
  • Thursday, July 16th: Godisheus, Girl Loves Distortion, Laughing Man
  • Monday, July 20th: Meredith Bragg, Hey Arbore, TBA
  • Thursday, July 23rd - Night of a Thousand Cakes!: Soft Power, Benjy Ferree, TBA
  • Monday, July 27th: TBA, Stoney Lonesome, Pree
  • Thursday, July 30th: Title Tracks, Casper Bangs, Grendel Babies

As for the stage shift mentioned in that same GoG interview (a lot of construction around the park may require the stage to be turned to face the other direction, which brings with it a few logistical issues), MacKaye told DCist that they'll definitely be shifting the stage for next Monday's show, but hope that the fences will be removed sooner rather than later to allow for the traditional set up for most of the rest of the season.

Looking forward to another great season. As always, if you can spare a buck or two, the series runs on donations, which you can make here.

UPDATE: Here's a Google Calendar-ized version of the above for those of you that want the Fort Reno schedule on your phone or computer. And here are the XML and ICS links for the calendar, for those who don't have a Google Calendar account and don't want to go through the rigamarole of setting one up.

from the website:
"this summer our work and play is dedicated to clark sabine. everyone live full."

my favorite band on the list is by far TBA.

Love those guys. They never play the same set twice.

Unless the objective is to implement Feng Shui principles, I'm not sure what turning the stage accomplishes given that it's a completely flat square. Why not just leave the stage and turn the band?
