More Thunderstorms, Flooding on the Way

Looks like we've got round two of this morning's crazy storms heading our way. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m., along with a flash flood watch until 11 p.m. for the D.C. metro area. The current estimate is that this storm activity will get going in full force by about 5 p.m., so hold on to your hats on those evening commutes, and seriously, don't attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Also watch out for potentially pretty sizable hail.

I'm leaving the frigate in the secret cove tonight - that hail can be a bitch on the deck planking.

we had watergate, we had whitewatergate, we had plamegate, and now we have floodgate.

Wow, it is a funky dark green outside my office window. Guess I'll work late, since I know the minute I walk outside the storm will hit full force.

You are all invited to join us underground below DuPont Circle. The CHUDS and I get a strong Wi-Fi signal and our shipment of Netflix DVDS arrived so we're all set to ride the storm out. By the way, CHUD hairs are hollow so they are very bouyant and waterproof.

There is a death cloud hovering over the mall right now. I'm going underground.

trapped at work...and happy hour awaits! nooooooooooo!

Hope safe and sound. Even walked out to the mailbox before the rain started. Have over an inch of rain in the last half hour.

Home safe and sound. (Hope sounds good too.)
