Obama Statement on Deadly Metro Crash

The White House released this statement from President Obama late last night: "Michelle and I were saddened by the terrible accident in Northeast Washington D.C. today. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends affected by this tragedy. I want to thank the brave first responders who arrived immediately to save lives. My staff has been in touch with Mayor Fenty's office and will continue to monitor the situation."

In the meantime, he had to find out where to catch the S9 bus to get to the office.

Nice statement. Now if he can make a strong statement about supporting the protesters in Iran...

seriously! and while he's at it, maybe he can demand action on that damned car alarm going off outside my house. WHY DOES HE NOT SUPPORT DEMOCRACY AND PEACE AND QUIET!

Well, this isn't exactly a controversial event. Iran's elections, on the other hand... we are supposed to support democracy, right? Not that I support Amedinajhad in any shape or form, but until there is actually hard evidence that the elections were fraudulent, then it might be smart to keep our mouths shut.

I'm so not amazed by all the blowhards who understand nothing about diplomacy and just want to make "statements."

Despite all the amazing and horrible things happening in Iran, it's likely that Achmadinijad will stay in power. It's not like Moussavi was going to change anything there besides the constant saber-rattling/showing-you-my-dick of the current guy.

Obama keeping his mouth shut is a very smart thing to do given the fact that an asshole will likely stay in power and we'll have to deal with his poo-flinging sooner or later.

Let's try to avoid some war, 'kay?

I wonder how long it'll be before the Rs do a word count on this statement vs. the number of words he's spoken about Iran. Ugh.

wow, it's almost like....he lives here or something

it's a bit of a generic fill-in-the-blank statement.
