The District Board of Elections and Ethics finally has a permanent executive director, the board announced late Friday. Rokey W. Suleman II, previously Fairfax County’s general registrar, will come on board in July after more than a year with only an interim director at the helm - a year which saw some controversial election irregularities during the September primary. The Examiner has more on the appointment, noting that Suleman will take on the job at a time when the BOEE has been tasked with deciding whether recognizing gay marriages legally performed elsewhere is a proper subject for a referendum.

We spend so much time bashing the District government for bad decisions, we sometimes forget to congratulate them when they get something right, so here goes: "Rokey W. Suleman II" is now the wackiest name in DC government. Good thing, too, what with previous incumbent Robert C. Bobb on loan to Detroit.
(Seriously, doesn't "Rokey W. Suleman II" sound like someone who sends out mass e-mails hawking Cialis? I mean, Cia1is?)
I dunno cminus, I think DOH director Pierre Vigilance clearly has the best name.
"Pierre Vigilance" is good, but not "Rokey W. Suleman II" good.
(He does win when titles are included, though: "Rokey W. Suleman II" becomes "Mr. Suleman", which is much less interesting, while "Pierre Vigilance" becomes "Doctor Vigilance", who I believe has battled both Batman and Green Arrow.)
