Small Bites
Burger Eating Contest
In the fine July 4th weekend tradition of eating contests, Z-Burger will be holding a burger eating contest at noon on July 2 at its Tenleytown location. The deadline for entries is June 29 at 10 a.m., and can be done by sending an email to zburgerdc@gmail.com. The first place winner will receive the grand prize which includes: $1,500 cash, $1,000 dollars worth of Z-Burger food, and a custom made Z-Burger trophy. The second place winner will receive $750 cash and a custom made Z-Burger trophy. The third place winner will be awarded $500 cash and a custom made Z-Burger trophy. And if the thought of stuffing your face isn't sufficient, all proceeds will go to Hope House.

Breadline to Reopen
We reported earlier that Breadline had temporarily closed due to numerous health code violations. They have reopened with a clean bill of inspection and so should be open again on Monday. You can check out the full details at Young & Hungry.

Mini Gelato-pocalyse
Gelato chain Ciao Bella will be handing out free 3.5 oz. samples of their gelato at two Chevy Chase-area supermarkets. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., they will be at the Chevy Chase Supermarket, and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. they will be at the Magruder's in Chevy Chase. They'll also be giving out samples at other markets farther afield in Richmond and Baltimore.
