Image courtesy a DCist reader Planning on using your day off to make a stop at the Genius Bar or finally pick up that new iPhone? Might want to head to Pentagon City, instead. NBC4 is reporting some kind of armed robbery occurred at the Apple Store in Clarendon, located in the 2700 block of Clarendon Boulevard, this morning, though details are still scant. At least one person is reported to have been injured. We'll update when we hear more.
One source tells us that a robber or robbers entered the store through the back of the store and shot an Apple Store employee in the shoulder. The employee's injury is not believed to be life threatening.
UPDATE: The Post has a story up now: a 26-year-old female Apple Store employee was shot in wounded in the shoulder.
Clearly, somebody took that dude's Thug Life Arlington rap video a little too seriously.
does John Hodgman have an alibi?
I'm glad my laziness won out over my desire to get my PowerBook fixed. I was "planning" on being there this morning. Still, armed robbery, wow.
The report on WJLA/ABC only said that robbery was a possible motive, and noted that it could be domestic violence. A woman was shot in the upper body by a man.
WTTG/Fox says the shooter was wearing a fake beard. Weird.

Should have used the Windows to get in to the store.
... tried but it crashed.
I thought OS X was supposed to be less vulnerable to backdoor attacks.
It was until it met Over the River. But I don't want to talk about it.

Sommer,
Gizmodo is covering this as well. They are also linking to YouTube videos of store surveillance posted by Arlington Co. P.D. I think it would be more useful to expose this to our local readership who will have a better chance of spotting this guy than the international audience of Giz. Crime Stoppers is offering $1000 on info leading to arrest, I believe.
