Good stuff from WaPo's Tim Craig on the ongoing bickering between At-large D.C. Council member David Catania and Ward 8 Council member Marion Barry. The two men have never been the best of friends, but they've been particularly at odds since the recent revelations that Barry may have improperly directed earmarks to several non-profits that appear to have been created by and under the control of the Ward 8 council member's office. Barry has attempted to blame the news stories about the earmark controversy on leaks coming from Catania, and the discord has been bubbling up continually during this week's revised budget negotiations.

In an interview today, Catania responded that Barry "is an utter joke." Catania then added he wanted to change the word "utter" to "complete."
Tell us how you really feel, Catania! Don't expect these two to be kissing and making up any time soon.

Wow, that's impressive ... name-calling. Catania's a sissy. No, let me change that to "a world-class sissy."

They're not so different. One's "A politician who is moral" and the other's a politician who's into oral. They should be celebrating their similarities, not fighting over their differences. Unless that fighting involved full frontal nudity and inflatable kiddie wading pools filled with banana pudding and Nilla Wafers.
The comical part of this whole little feud is that David Catania is no better. From his threats to "get behind" his legislative priorities or else to his lying about his behavior when called out...David Catania is no better than Mayor McCrackenstein when it comes to questionable behavior. Threatening to "burn down" Whitman Walker if they did not fire the CEO...questionable business dealings when at his former law firm...and the best yet I wonder just how much money George Washington has received from the Council since he got his little "teaching" gig there.
Sorry but Catania needs to learn that "those in glass houses" proverb before taking on someone that in spite of his MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR shortcomings, illegal behavior and inability to pay taxes is seen as a major beacon in the black community.

The best thing all of you can do for David "Sissybitch" Catania is vote him out of office when his seat is up for reelection.
The number of gay jokes on this thread is shocking. Aren't we in a cosmopolitan, progressive city? Oh wait, it's just provincial DC. Sigh.
