D.C. Council Staffer Found Dead in Baltimore

The press secretary to Ward 2 D.C. Council member Jack Evans has been found dead in Baltimore Harbor, NBC4's Tom Sherwood is reporting.

Desi Deschaine, 29, reportedly was on a boat outing with friends on Sunday in the harbor, but was only reported missing to police after he didn't show up to work Monday morning. So far no explanation is being offered as to why he wasn't reported missing earlier.

Baltimore Police have since pulled Deschaine's body from the harbor, and are investigating the death.

Before joining Evans' staff, Deschaine served as Community Outreach Coordinator for Wards 1 and 2 under Mayor Anthony Williams.

UPDATE: The Post now has a story up, which conflicts with Sherwood's account. They say Deschaine was reported missing on Sunday evening, after he disappeared following the boating party.
