Another Guilty Plea in OCTO Case
The three young children whom police were searching for Thursday have been found, WJLA reports. The kids, 4-year-old Keith Dwayne Gray Jr., 2-year-old Mykia Aliyah Gray and 5-month-old Keyon Deone Gray, were reportedly found at the Columbia Heights Community Center at 14th and Girard Streets NW on Thursday evening, and were then taken to a hospital for observation. The adult family member who was supposed to be watching them, 48-year-old Toilynn Braxton, has reportedly been arrested - WJLA says she was wanted on an outstanding warrant after she failed to appear in court this week, and could face more charges stemming from this incident.

Glad the kids were safe and (relatively) okay. Wondering... do parents ever undergo investigation for leaving their kids with someone who, it seems from the way Braxton was described, might be less than responsible?
more than 250 comments on a lost dog and so little conversation on the lost kids.
two thoughts:
~ Childcare is about the same cost as a low-wage FT job, so low-wage parents have to decide between getting the care they can afford or not working at all.
~ Often the cheap option is an out-of-work family member who at least has the time, if not the sense.
I feel for this mom and want to assume she was making the best of a lot of tough options.
(And on the dog: everyone needs to lay off. Regardless it is WRONG to steal a dog, even a dog you think should be pampered like a queen. More time to educating kids and less time to ranting at Whole Foods shoppers and the world would be a better place.)
