>> D.C. musician/vocalist N'digo Rose (pictured) has been a staple on the U Street scene for a while, which makes his gig at Tabaq with native Washingtonian, Yahzarah, fitting. $10 in advance, 8 p.m.

Thursday:
>> Given that he performs here frequently, you'd think Eric Roberson would've established residency in the District by now. While he hasn't gone that far yet, he will be performing and holding a listening party for his soon-to-be released album, Music Fan First, at Ibiza along with local singer Alison Carney. Free, 6 p.m.

>> When a satirical song he recorded went viral and sparked controversy, D.C. poet Bomani Armah gained instant notoriety that overlooked his gift for writing. With a lot of the unnecessary clamor gone, he's back to art and will be at Ebenezers Coffeehouse. Free, 7:30 p.m.

Friday:
>> The "Beatdown" series continues with producers J-Scrila, Mark Henry, Sakwe and Team Demo in musical competition. Joining them will be emcees Kingpin Slim and Phil Ade. Along with DJ RBI, they'll be at Almaz. $10, 9 p.m.

>> It's the last Friday of the month, which means it's "Black Light Special" time. DJ Underdog will be spinning a strictly vinyl set of Afrobeat and Afro Soul at Selam. $1, 10 p.m.

>> Detroit-born, NYC-based producer/DJ Quentin Harris will be the main attraction for a night of house music at the Trinidad and Tobago Association (5123 Georgia Avenue NW). Also performing with him will be Chris Burns. $10 before midnight/$15 after midnight, 10 p.m.
