WJLA reports that two people were seriously injured this morning after a motorcyclist struck a pedestrian near 18th and I Streets NW. Police will investigate the crash, D.C. Deputy Fire Chief Ken Crosswhite told the news station, which happened around 9:30 a.m. and sent both people to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. It's so far unclear whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk or not.

This happened directly outside my window. The pedestrian was hit by the motorcycle in the middle of the block, about half way from either the 18th or 19th St. crosswalks. Just to clarify...
did you see what kind of moto? harley or crotch rocket?
Was it possible to tell if the moto jumped a light?
I think it was a larger bike they were towing, not a little one.
As to the light, I don't know if he ran the light on I, or was taking a left from 18th on to I. He didn't hit the guy until the middle of the block.
Saw a neck brace being put on the driver of the bike, with a backboard also.
interesting. I ride a motorcycle to work everyday. I ride home along Eye everyday. That strip is a a bit dodgy to ride because there's a lot of stop and go traffic, double parked cars/vans, jaywalkers, people on their cells, etc. You have to be careful, for sure.
I ask about the bike b/c Crotch Rocketeers are more prone to firing ahead than cruiser/Harley guys, in my experience. I have never had a Harley brush past me in a blur, I have had numerous sports bikes do that.
If it was a large bike, it seems less likely that the rider was gunning the light or speeding.
It's unfortunate. I guess it was good luck that they are so close to GWU.
probably someone walking into green light traffic, assuming everyone will stop so their precious soul can get to the other side of the street.
I'm not sure why I bothered to click on the link.
2 pedestrians hit says TOP, not 1 says YOU
