Marion Barry Loves Ethics Rules

And we love these quotes from the Ward 8 rep on the passage of emergency legislation today that lays out ethics rules for D.C. Council members, courtesy the Post's Tim Craig:

"This is a step forward," Barry said. "This part of a series of efforts to try to make sure the council is moving forward." ...

... "Thanks for bringing this," Barry told Gray. "It's a situation that most us can be proud of. All of have followed [the rules] anyway. It's just a matter of putting together."

Considering these rules were adopted, and on an emergency basis at that, directly because Barry has been accused of hiring his former girlfriends to do ill-defined jobs and funneling Council funds to non-profits that are controlled by his staff and supporters, we're going to go ahead declare the councilmember's remarks today as *Classic Barryisms.*
