Red Line Service Stopped Between Van Ness-UDC and Dupont Circle

Red Line service has been temporarily suspended between the Van Ness-UDC and Dupont Circle stations from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Metro announced the closure less than an hour ago, explaining that it was necessary while they secure a loose communications cable hanging from the tunnel ceiling between the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle stations. Free shuttle buses are operating between Van Ness-UDC and Dupont Circle during this time. The loose cable was discovered during rush hour this morning, and Metro says Red Line trains have been at reduced speeds in the area since then.

I seriously think HBO should consider making a science-fiction drama about the DC Metro. Synopsis: years ago, a witch from the West Indies comes to DC to reveal her pregnancy to the media...the father of the baby: a prominent Congressman. She tragically dies after getting hit by a Metro train under very mysterious circumstances, right before she gets a chance to go public....but her spirit puts a permanent curse on our beloved system, and thus begins the perpetual haunting and systematic downfall of Metroooooo!

No?

I like it. You should pitch your idea to HBO.

I've been thinking for weeks that there must have been some gypsy that WMATA did wrong. Between the train accidents and bus accidents, it the worse curse I've ever seen.
