Courtesy WJLA, D.C. police have released surveillance video showing a group of teenage girls who are wanted as suspects in the stabbing of a Subway sandwich shop employee in Northeast D.C. today. Apparently the employee and the group of girls first got into a confrontation when one of them tried to bring McDonald's food to eat inside the store, which is of course against Subway corporate policy. Things escalated from there, culminating in the employee chasing the girls out of the store, and the employee winding up stabbed.
The shop in question is in the 800 block of H Street NE, located in the same strip mall as a McDonald's.
Think this guy will be named employee of the month?

ok, why weren't these girls in school?
if you're of school age, and police see you out on the street during the day, are they allowed to pick you up for truancy? would the MPD even care or try?
I'm guessing because they're the type of girls that carry shivs. Lanier should declare an all hands on deck to round up all the truants. That'll fix the parenting.

Remember when DC only had a handful of hack inspectors? Then Tony Williams made a big deal about doubling the number of inspectors from five to ten? All to handle the THOUSANDS of cabs in DC.
I predict the same thing will happen with truant officers, if at all. The Mayor will probably stonewall and deny the existance of such a thing as "truant officers" and besides, he graduated from high school so he shouldn't be subject to such criticism, and why aren't you talking about the great advances his adminstration has accomplished in the areas of reducing student stabbiness?

Also, if they rounded up all the truants, where would they store them all? RFK? Would that conflict with D.C. United's contract? Why do I have visions of Estadio Nacional and the 1973 Chilean coup dancing in my head? And what is the CIA's role in all of this, exactly?

Did you guys watch the rest of the video? The reporter mentions a story about a guy in a wheelchair shooting someone and getting away. How does that happen? I know that some of those electric models are pretty fast but really he should be relatively easy to find, right? These DC cops are seriously pathetic.
i get the feeling that the police in that part of the 1st district just don't find street crime to be that big of a concern...
