Not much more to report at this time on the body found this morning at the Capital Yacht Club, located in the 900 block of Water St. in Southwest. D.C. Fire/EMS spokesperson Pete Piringer was able to confirm that the body, which was found near Pier 5 at about 9 a.m., was that of an adult woman, and not a man as had been initially reported. D.C. Police confirm that they are investigating, but could offer no details.

and it's southwest! the winner in the "which quadrant gets to host the 100th homicide that cathy lanier predicted we wouldn't even get to this year, maybe" award.
Don't worry, as long as the police don't take reports, they'll keep the numbers low.
Like when someone tries to report finding human remains in the 5th district. What's going on over there? Sounds like some new leadership is in order to fix that area of mpd.
Pffft. People find severed limbs in their backyards all the time, particularly during fraternity hazing season. Why, if I had a nickle for every used condom I found with a penis still inside, I wouldn't have to strangle hobos for the amusement of wealthy Middle Eastern asphyxophile perverts, millionaire hobophiliacs, various crowned heads of Europe, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
All this severed hand business means is that the DC police can finally close the case on Dr. Richard Kimble.
Not to speculate on what may have happened, but the lighting and police presence down there is terrible. There is a DC police station (Harbor Patrol) along the waterfront, but apparently its up to the Park Police to actual patrol the sidewalks. In my years of walking and jogging down there I have never once seen a cop of any kind on patrol. Throw in the busted out street lights (every other one in some places) and you get an area that can become dangerous very quickly.
Anyone heard from Liz? Anyone?
Liz is "busy".
It's gonna' take way more than a couple bottles of bourbon and a blindfold to get rid of me at the CYC.
Get back in the inflatable dinghy, Liz.
"...was that of an adult woman, and not a man..."
It's Pat!
