>> For even more Wodzianski, try Fraser Gallery during the Bethesda Art Work, for an exhibit of his mixed media drawings. Abra Cadaver doesn't have a scavenger hunt, but it does boast more morbid imagery. Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
>> Conner Contemporary continues their Experimental Video series with the third addition featuring work from the Rubell Family Collection. Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Capitol Skyline Hotel. Then at 5, Mera Rubell hosts a conversation with curator/video artist Brandon Morse.
>> If you haven't checked out Edward Burtynsky's Oil at the Corcoran yet, now is never a better time. Or you can head to the Adamson Gallery and view a companion exhibit of the same title. Opening reception, Tuesday the 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.
>> At The Phillips Collection see photographs of African Art by Man Ray and his contemporaries, as well as the objects that inspired them in Man Ray, African Art and the Modernist Lens. Opening Saturday, $12.
>> On Thursday, take a late lunch to see photographer Philip Trager discuss his art and technique at the Library of Congress. Trager's work is currently on display at the National Building Museum in Form and Movement. The discussion is a part of “Artist Talk,” an ongoing lecture series from the Library’s Center for Architecture, Design and Engineering. 1 p.m. in Dining Room A on the sixth floor of the James Madison Building.
>> While it might be a a year away from opening, you can still help celebrate the coming of Arlington's New Cultural Center at Creative Briefs. Enjoy brief performances by Washington Shakespeare Co., the Synetic Theatre, music and dance performances and an avante gaurde group. Saturday 8 to 11 p.m.
>> At the Chilean Embassy, view selected works by painter Joan Belmar in Migrations at an opening reception on Tuesday the 13 at 6 p.m. RSVP to cultural [at] embassyofchile.org
>> Thursday at Union Station get a glimpse of what upcycling is all about. The Red Bull Art of Can features artwork that has been created from or inspired by Red Bull cans.
>> Second Thursday Art Night is this Thursday at the Torpedo Factory. Enjoy open studios, an opening reception for Summer Island, Merri Nelson’s solo exhibit at The Art League Gallery, kids art activities and an archeology themed scavenger hunt. The evening kicks off at 6 p.m.
>> Enjoy a night of Kalanidhi Dance presented by the American Dance Institute on Saturday at 6 p.m. as a part of the Indian Dance Festival. The evening combines traditional dances with contemporary choreography, all rooted in the foundations of Kuchipudi. $15.
>> At Studio B at Biagio Fine Chocolate, view Spanish Ghosts: Spain's Abandoned Architecture photographs by Mark Parascandola. The exhibit and opening reception are part of a month-long series of activities planned by SpainDC to highlight Spanish culture in the Washington DC area. Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
