>> This morning we showed you a preview of Long View Gallery's new venue. If you didn't RSVP for the opening party tomorrow night, stop by any time during their regular hours to check it out for yourself.

>> Construct: Space Transformed is a new project by the Cultural Development Corporation that put artwork in five storefronts in NoMa. Join them for an artwalk from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a reception at 1100 First Street NE from 6 to 8 p.m. Free by RSVP required for artwalk. All pieces are visible from the sidewalk, so swing by to see them until January 5, including two more artwalks on November 5 and 19.

>> Addison/Ripley Fine Art has a new exhibit of photographs by James Osher in Three Seconds with the Masters. You might call his work a little meta, as it's art that explores the nature of viewing art. See it during the opening reception Saturday, 5 to 7 p.m.

>> Tonight see Mortified, a collection of real cringe-worthy high school "artifacts" -- journals, yearbooks, etc. -- presented live at Town. $15, 8 p.m., 21 and over.

>> At the National Portrait Gallery, see the winners of the 2009 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition starting this Friday. Winners of the once-every-three-year contest will be announced at a special reception tonight.

>> Art Enables will have an opening Celebrating Annie Edson Taylor, Orville Wright and the Second Battle of Bedriacum this Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.

>> The Freer and Sackler Galleries are showing the large-scale, wild paintings from Falnama: The Book of Omens. These works of divination date back to Safavid Iran and Ottoman Turkey in the 16th and early 17th centuries. Opens Saturday.

>> The Stamp Gallery at the University of Maryland opens Toppled with work by Jessica Vaughn on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Her artwork focuses on Jesse Owens and the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.

>> Congrats to The SPACE Gallery, which will have its Grand Opening for their new gallery at 200 North Street in Fairfax on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.

>>The Corcoran Gallery of Art's annual Fall Fête is October 24, this year with a nautical theme. Regular tickets for the black-tie event are $100 and include a "cocktail buffet," desserts and open bar, along with a DJ and private viewing of Sargent and the Sea.

>> Workshops: Hamiltonian Gallery will help you write a better artist statement this Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. $10, RSVP to jackie[at]hamiltoniangallery.com. Learn more about non-profit end-of-year fundraising with CuDC and Flashpoint next Wednesday, Oct. 26. $35, RSVP to redcircle[at]flashpointdc.org.
