D.C. Amazon.com Customers Can Now Get Same-Day Delivery

Online retail giant Amazon.com today launched same-day delivery in select cities, and Washington, D.C. is one of them. The service, dubbed "Local Express Delivery," has also been extended to customers in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, Las Vegas, and Seattle, and will be launched in Chicago, Indianapolis and Phoenix in a few months.

Before you rush off to place an urgent order for that Slanket you've finally conceded you want, here's how it works: First, D.C. customers have to get their same-day orders in by 10:30 a.m. (the times vary by city). Then, you have to pay for it. If you're already an Amazon Prime* member, the Local Express Delivery costs just $5.99 per item. If you're not a Prime* member, it costs considerably more: upwards of $14-$20, with the rates broken down by shipment and item charges (and yes, they charge for both) on this chart. Not cheap without a Prime* account, but still nice to have as an option in emergency situations.

I reuse mine as it is. I turn them inside out and get back to business.

And you want a DC Library Card? Eeeeeeeewwww!!!!

Liz. I don't plan on having sex in the library.

Make sure that Amazon leaves the package on your doorstep or in your lobby. Since the beginning of the recession, hobo traffiking of stolen Amazon packages has taken a hit. Do your part to contribute to this important part of the underground hobo economy. Remember: you can't poop in a treebox if you're belly's empty.

Is this only for customers within the district limits?

Good question Tim. I didn't see any information specific to your question on the site. You may want to call them.

Tim, I think it includes most of the metro area. They say that if the option is available to you, it'll show up during the checkout process, so you'll know for sure when you try to order.

I find that unlikely. Lately most of my Amazon packages have a return address in Sterling so I would think they'd at least deliver to NoVa.

If only Passion Parties or Adamandeve.com offered that too. I could have my new dildo in my hands today! No more venturing out to Springfield's MVC for my sex-toy needs!

If the dildo's in your hands, you're not using it to its full potential.

If I'm the one using it on someone else, at least one end would be in my hand.

Sommer, this site just got blocked by NetNanny. Sorry.

If I'm the one using it on someone else, at least one end would be in my hand.

Oh, such joys are ahead for you once you Google "double-headed dildo".

comment o' the day, right there.

Packages will be delivered by a boy in a homemade hot air balloon.

I'm in Arlington and do get the same day shipping option. I tried something simple like a twilight book, not sure about them condoms and other weekend entertainment but hey, they now also deliver saturday!
