O funnel cake, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Is it the crispy fried-but-not-exceedingly-greasy goodness? Is it the powdered sugar that coats the throat and occasionally induces a coughing fit? Whatever the reason, you and Flickr user lorigoldberg's goo-tagged capture will always have a place in and on my heart. EXIF.

Philadelphia Water Ice on H Street sells funnel cake, if you're looking for a unique and tasty way of killing yourself.

Sort've, monkey. Two years ago, they made real, freshly-prepared funnel cakes.

A few months ago, I bought ordered one, and was presented with a pre-made/frozen, reheated, tiny abomination that I wouldn't dare call a funnel cake. Very tough and too small (maybe 6" at most) It's not that hard to make them fresh!

Wow. That sucks. They sell home funnel cake machines at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I should just buy one and open up a funnel cake/hurdy gurdy cart complete with face-eating monkey in a Hannibal Lecter mask.

Wingos in Georgetown does them too.

Just don't breathe while you're eating it lest you inhale the powdered sugar and collapse into a coughing heap on the ground. Someone will steal your funnel cake should that occur. I speak from personal experience.

Stop stealing people's funnel cakes, Flappy!

I had a funnel cake this past weekend at Markoff's Haunted Forest up near Poolesville (which continues operations through the weekend), and it was quite possibly the best one I've ever had.
