The Senate side plaza of the U.S. Capitol is currently closed while U.S. Capitol Police investigate a suspicious vehicle in the area. Constitution Avenue between First Street NW and First Street NE is also closed. There were some early, unconfirmed reports that police may have found a dead body inside a vehicle, but we've since learned that the Capitol Police took the time to make an announcement over the press gallery loudspeakers that there has in fact not been a body a found. Police are still on the scene investigating, however.

quick, everyone panic. an old jalopy has broken down near the capitol.
coincidence, or terror?!
we report, you freak out.
How the hell do these unconfirmed rumors get started? I mean, this sounds a lot like the rumors that would get started in middle school if something vaguely suspicious happened, for example:
"There's a weird car just parked in the parking lot?"... "Well, Steve said that there's a really gross dead body stashed inside"... "I heard that kid Joey in gym class killed someone, and then he totally stashed the body in a car somewhere so no one would find it"... etc. etc.
Looked clear to me when I walked by 1st and Const. about 20 minutes ago.
Did it have "Love" (ghetto-style) painted on the side?
