D.C. Police Seek Suspect in Series of Bank Robberies

2009_1125_bankrobbery.jpg The Metropolitan Police Department has released security camera images of a man wanted in a series of recent bank robberies. Police say the suspect in question may be responsible for the Nov. 21 attempted robbery of a Bank of America branch in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue NW, and a Nov. 14 robbery of a PNC Bank branch in the 3300 block of 14th Street NW.

In both cases, the suspect produced a note demanding money, though in the Bank of America incident, he ultimately fled the scene without obtaining anything.

The suspect is described as an adult male, between 25 and 30 years-old, of an unknown race with a light complexion, between 5'11" and 6'1", and 180 to 200 pounds. In one of the cases, the suspect was reportedly wearing a red “running “ type jacket with black thin stripes along the front, a black skull cap and light colored jeans. In the other case, he wore a black jacket with a white, red and yellow abstract design on the front of it.

Anyone with information about these cases is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIM [E] (2746). Anonymous information may also be forwarded to DC Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS and by text messaging 50411.

Sad state of affairs when a mayor in the richest country in the world has to rob banks to pay for his lycra. I'm ashamed to be an American today.

I was thinking the same thing...

Ditto on the Fenty ID ...!!

Man, I was all ready to make a clever Fenty comment and have my wit be showered with praise. Curses!

A little emaciated but it's definitely there. Probably after a few of his harder days of riding on the CB Parkway...

How do you think he pays for his a href="http://blog.washingtonpost.com/dcwire/2007/02/the_cycling_mayor.html">$4000 bicycles???

Man... I hope he puts it into new siding for his house and maybe some redbull for his security detail. I've caught them checking their eyeballs for light leaks quite a few times...

Come on...y'all know Fenty would get Sinclair Skinner to do this for him.

Yeah, but Skinner's too chubby to make a quick getaway - hizzoner can sprint!

It's Ali G wivout da facial hair, innit.

Fenty was serious about closing the budget gaps.....
