  • There was an actual fist fight in the Washington Post newsroom on Friday, between Style editor Henry Allen and feature writer Manuel Roig-Franzia, and everyone was racing to get the story today. Washingtonian, City Desk and Fishbowl DC all provide blow-by-blow coverage.
  • "D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and his economic development team must provide real estate documents to Deborah Nichols, the D.C. auditor, according to an Oct. 30 ruling by D.C. Superior Court Judge Eugene Hamilton." [Washington Business Journal]
  • Cate Blanchett, in town performing in A Streetcar Named Desire at the Kennedy Center, was spotted at the Columbia Heights Target over the weekend. [New Columbia Heights]
  • There's been a rash of smash-and-grab commercial burglaries at several businesses in Georgetown. [Georgetown Metropolitan]
  • And yet more alleged anti-gay hate crimes around Georgetown University: a slur was written on the door of the school's LGBTQ Center. [Vox Populi]
  • Washington in the '60s, a new documentary series produced by WETA, begins airing tonight at 9 p.m. [Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space]
  • And everyone's favorite local transit and urban development blog has a fancy new look! Check it out. [Greater Greater Washington]

Thank you Cate! Now when I feel compelled to lie to guests of my wanna-be Algonquin Roundtables who ask where did I find such a mahhvelous microsuede ottoman--I will now tell them the truth, that it's from Target. Not Tar-zhay, Target. The one where Cate Blanchett shops. So, that means you can suck it, Bo Concepts!

Looks like "Washington in the 60's" is just 1 x 60, so not a series. There will be a "Washington in the 70's" coming out in February.

These Posties have spirit! Provider One wagers 300 quatloos on the newcomer. Combat to be decided by gym socks filled with manure.

Fist fight in the Post newsroom? Spare me the drama. When you've got the Talking Heads heiress Katharine Weymouth running the show, it doesn't surprise me that box-wine heir Manuel Roig-Franzia is getting his ass kicked by the Style editor.

Personally I think the Post would benefit from more free-for-alls in the newsroom.
