Kitchen Fire at Equinox Forces Move to Aria

Local restaurant Equinox has suffered a bad kitchen fire, according to a Facebook update from Chef Todd Gray's wife and co-owner, Ellen Gray. The restaurant will be closed until further notice, and in the meantime will be operating from Aria Restaurant. Gray said to call 202-409-3157 for more information.

According to Tim Carman over at Young & Hungry, the grease fire caused approximately $30,000-40,000 worth of damage to the kitchen and the hood and duct systems above it.

The restaurant was a recent stop for one of the Obamas' Friday date nights. We wish everyone at Equinox the best of luck getting back on their feet.
