Pedestrian Fatally Struck on New York Ave. NW

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist near the intersection of New York and New Jersey Avenues NW this afternoon, the Post is reporting.

The victim, said to be a man in his 50s, was in the 300 block of New York Ave. NW when he appears to have fallen down somehow, putting himself in the path of an oncoming truck, according to D.C. Fire/EMS spokesperson Pete Piringer. The man's name has not yet been released.
