Tuesday:
>> A lot of people are talking about it and it's quickly become one of the most anticipated albums of 2010. Sade is back and there will be a listening party for her Soldier or Love album, due out February 8, at the Rock and Roll Hotel. Free, 6 p.m.

>> Sure, it's outside the Beltway, but it should be worth the trip. Quasi-local artist and Grammy nominee Eric Roberson will join forces with 2009 Grammy nominee and Three Star alumna, Wayna in Annapolis at Rams Head Tavern. $29.50, 8 p.m.

>> A collection of local and out-of-town emcees are on stage for the "LoveSexDubstep" show at Bohemian Caverns. Acts slated to perform include Rosetta Stoned, The Package, Tame One and Myka 9 (pictured). $10, 8 p.m.

Wednesday:
>> Love her or loathe her, Mimi's 20-year career is a thing of legend. Ms. Carey-Cannon will be at DAR Constitution Hall. $68.25-$249.25, 7:30 p.m.

>> The "Refuge" party maintains its weekly spot in Tabaq's basement as DJ Stylus brings the music you should be listening to and those tunes you should've been listening to that you missed. Joining him will be special guest, vocalist Tamara Wellons. Free, 9 p.m.

>> The "Metropolitan Muse" weekly series takes place at Layla Lounge, and this week features Terrance Cunningham and special guests who represent some of the best talent present in the DMV. $10, 9 p.m.

Thursday:
>> D.C. has its share of bar trivia nights, but this is probably the only one dedicated to hip-hop. Aptly titled, "Hip Hop Trivia Night" goes down at Lounge of Three with DJ I.A.M. providing the sounds. Free, 7 p.m.

>> There really isn't a need for much of an introduction other than saying he's one of the greatest vibes players ever and has a fistful of memorable soul hits. Roy Ayers will be taking up residency at Blues Alley for four straight nights (two shows per night) starting Thursday. $35+$12.50 per person, 8 p.m. & 10 p.m.

>> "AfroBeat for Ya Soul!"is back but on a new day. DJ Underdog will be spinning the Afrobeat and Afrosoul tunes for the night at Bossa Lounge. $5, 9 p.m.
