FRIDAY

HAPPY HOUR: U Street bar Lounge of Three is hosting an all-Wu Tang, all the time happy hour tonight, with $1 rail drinks and margaritas from 5-7, kung-fu movies, DJ Nick the 1da dishing up the Wu.

MOVIE: This weekend the Freer Gallery begins its nearly two-month-long Iranian Film Festival. Stop by for tonight's selection,
A Man Who Ate His Cherries
, about a man who is forced to divorce his wife and come up with a clever way to pay for her restitution. The movie starts at 7 p.m. and is free. Tickets will be distributed starting one hour beforehand.

ART: The Washington Sculptors Group has an opening at Pepco's Edison Place Gallery tonight featuring their annual juried member exhibit. Erwin Timmers, along with 16 local sculptors, will have their work presented and highlighted in an awards ceremony. Free, 6 - 8 p.m.

Or for an artist talk, Civilian Art Projects hosts a talk about the site-specific installation in their front window for free at 8 p.m.

And for browsing, Caos on F opens an exhibit of mixed media work by Chul Beom Park for free from 6 - 8:30 p.m.

JAZZ: Area vocalist Lavenia Nesmith takes the stage for Jazz Night in Southwest. She brings with her top, local talent, including pianist Eric Byrd, saxophonist Lyle Link, bassist James King, and Three Stars alum Lenny Robinson on drums. 6 - 9 p.m. $5.

MUSIC: For some energetic, live hip hop, go no further thanLiv to catch local Fly Gypsy with Phil Ade. $5-$10 in advance, 8 p.m.

Silliness prevails tonight at the Black Cat, when Boston's "18th century aristocrats," The Upper Crust, performs their "roque" music with Three stars alum Death by Sexy and Baltimore sleaze-punks Fishnet Stalkers opening. $12, 9 p.m.

SATURDAY

MOVIE: The National Museum of African Art screens a double feature and discussion on Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless (1959) and Alain Resnais’ Last Year at Marienbad (1961), both French New Wave films that inspired Yinka Shonibare. Free, 1 - 5:30 p.m.

JAZZ: Jazz flautist Ali Ryerson, a seasoned performer at world class festivals and collaborator of heavyweights such as Kennedy Center artistic director Dr. Billy Taylor, NEA Jazz Master Kenny Barron, and legendary drummer Roy Haynes, will lead her own group at Twins Jazz for sets at 9 and 11 p.m. Tickets are $15 + $12 minimum/surcharge.

Or in Rosslyn, local jazz violinist Bruno Nasta, who curates the beloved Jazz in the Garden summer concert series, will be the featured soloist with the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra at the Rosslyn Spectrum. The program includes selections by Gershwin, Django Reinhardt, Jean-Luc Ponty, and others; 8 p.m. $10-$20.

MUSIC: Who knew RJD2 could sing? With a new album out later this year, it's anyone's guess what other tricks he might have up his sleeve(s). Opening is Happy Chichester at 9:30. $20, 8 p.m.

The one and only DJ Grandmaster Flash is at Ibiza. $15, 9 p.m.

And The Rock and Roll Hotel hosts the always entertaining Afrofunk Big Band, Chopteeth. 8:30 p.m., $15.

SUNDAY

JAZZ: Up and coming young pianist Willerm Delisfort will lead his own band on Sunday evening at Twins Jazz. Call 202-234-0072 for set time and cover information.

ART: The Textile Museum hosts a Harajuku street style fashion show for their current exhibit, Contemporary Japanese Fashion: The Mary Baskett Collection, from 2 - 4 p.m., $20 for non-members.

STUNT: It's time once again for the annual No Pants Metro Ride, now in its third year. By now, you know the drill: hosts Improv Everywhere are asking those who dare to ride pantsless to meet at C Street Park, near the corner of 7th and Maryland SW, at 3 p.m. before boarding at L'Enfant Plaza. Make sure to read the detailed instructions on Facebook before you go. There's also an after-party planned at Cobalt.
