The Real World D.C.: The Morning After, Pt. 6

Callie gets her big break in photography this week.
We're halfway through The Real World D(upont) C(ircle), and a swift end couldn't seem any sweeter. Then again, the best may be yet to come -- MTV's been dropping rumors that one of the roommates will be making an early departure soon.

Our usual bullet-point recap of last night's episode is below the jump; the rest of our award-winning* Real World coverage is available here.

*And by award-winning, we mean the award of our readers' love. Aww.

  • Callie's true passion is photography. If only there was a way she could put it to use in D.C.
  • No way! She got word that the Washington Blade -- now the D.C. Agenda -- is looking for a photography intern! What a crazy coincidence. There's no way MTV set that up for her.
  • Callie leaves a voicemail for Blade editor Kevin Naff. Instead of leaving a call-back number, she leaves him her email address. Really? Call me old-fashioned, but if you call someone, leave a phone number.
  • Andrew is still striking out with the ladies, and gets turned down at our favorite den of STDs, Tom Tom. "It's tough to be a guy in Washington, D.C.," says our favorite sexual predator.
  • Mike takes some of the roommates down to his internship at the Human Rights Campaign, where he's working on a project focused on service-members who are discharged for being gay.
  • Back at the house, Mike talks to his ex-boyfriend, Tanner, who may come visit. Mike is torn between wanting to be with Tanner and not wanting to be tied down while in D.C.
  • Callie starts working on her portfolio and résumé for the Blade. Does being on The Real World count as professional experience or is it merely personal info?
  • Andrew and Ashley are fighting. Sexual Predator vs. Drama Queen, Rd. 1.
  • Ashley rubs pizza in Andrew's face, he retaliates by rubbing pizza on her bed. Ashley wakes up Mike to tell him about the ongoing conflict. He really doesn't look like he much cares.
  • Ashley and Andrew keep fighting, and Andrew steps to her and slightly shoves her. Dramatic music and slow-mo camera shots for added effect, just like in real life.
  • Ashley gets really upset because she was beaten as a child.
  • She talks to Callie about no longer feeling comfortable in the house. She's got this nervous tic that forces her to run her hand through her hair repeatedly at the most inopportune moments. Yep, I've been watching each episode so closely that I can say this with propriety. Sigh.
  • Ashley can't stand being in the house for the night, so she decamps to a hotel. Is this a first for The Real World? And what hotel will she stay at?
  • She stays at The Churchill on Connecticut Avenue, just two blocks from the house.
  • The next morning, Callie, who was kept up by the Andrew vs. Ashley drama, realizes she's running late and hasn't yet finished her résumé. Sister, résumé-padding is totally D.C.
  • Callie admits, "I don't even know how to work this Metro system." Neither does Metro, Callie. Hey-O!
  • She interviews with Naff, looking like a deer in headlights when he mentions that the Blade covers LGBT issues.
  • No worries, Naff is willing to give Callie a shot. Phew!
  • On the Metro ride back, Ashley has a bottle of water. RULEBREAKER!
  • They get home, and Callie gets her first assignment: take pics of Halo's fifth anniversary party.
  • Mike joins Callie and Erika for the Halo soiree as their escort.
  • Callie takes pictures, Mike meets Eric.
  • Eric comes home, they hook up.
  • Callie shows her pics to Naff, and she gets the internship. So far we've got two roommates with internships. At gay-oriented organizations. Way to shove your anti-traditional, marriage-redefining ideology down my throat, MTV. Can someone get a gig at the Heritage Foundation for some balance? Please?
  • Andrew and Ashley aren't talking to each other. You know, with them giving each other the silent treatment, the show has suddenly gotten marginally better! How long will this last?
  • D'oh. They're back to talking.
  • Tanner emails Mike to say he loves him. Mike's not interested, and the roommates encourage him to spread his wings.
  • Emily's wearing the Taxation Without Representation shirt again. We likey.
  • It's only been an episode, but we already miss Josh. Bring back the beast!
