In a week overloaded with sold-out shows, this WMA highlights only those events that needn't require begging, borrowing, or ...something far worse.

MONDAY
>>9:30 Club: Spoon's two night stand with Deerhunter and The Strange Boys are both sold out. 7:30 p.m.

>>DC9: Inlets, Hollertown 9 p.m., $8

TUESDAY
>>6th & I Synagogue: Joanna Newsom and The Moore Brothers wrap up their two-night stint at the Synagogue. 8 p.m., Sold Out.

WEDNESDAY
>>Continuing the grand tradition of Kiwi pop that first came of age in the early 1980s, The Ruby Suns' latest Fight Softly will hopefully garner the band some much deserved attention. This lean, weekday friendly line-up at the Black Cat backstage also includes the equally enticing Toro Y Moi. 9 p.m., $10.

>>The Rock and Roll Hotel: The RX Bandits received very little attention back when they were considered second-tier in ska's third wave. The band has since dropped the horns, forcing the question: Can a Showoff reunion be far off? With The Builders and The Butchers and Zechs Marquise 8 p.m., $15.

>> 9:30 Club: Miike Snow, Delorean. 7:30 p.m., Sold Out.

>>DC9: Miles Kurosky (Beulah), Pancho-san. 8:30 p.m., $14.

THURSDAY
>>It's a crosstown battle of the (three) stars with Jukebox The Ghost headlining an evening of good-natured pop alongside the wonky rock stylings (their words, not mine) of Tally Hall and Skybox at the Black Cat. 8 p.m., $13.

>>Those looking for something a bit noisier can head to the Rock and Roll Hotel to check out Solar Powered Sun Destroyer (***), Bellflur (***) and Harvard, 8:30 p.m., $10.

>>DC9: Male Bonding Dum Dum Girls, Detox Retox 9 p.m., $10.

>> Verizon Center: Alicia Keys, Robin Thicke 7:30 p.m., $49.50-128.

FRIDAY
>>Now that Spring has officially sprung, take one last opportunity to revel in the dense chamber rock that's sustained you during the harsh winter months. Tonight at the Rock and Roll Hotel, come thank Shearwater for elegantly capturing a sense of chilly snowbound desolation on this year's misleadingly titled The Golden Archipelago. With them is Baltimore's Wye Oak and Hospital Ships. 9 p.m., $12.

>>Black Cat: Beach House, Bachelorette 9 p.m., Sold Out.

>> 9:30 Club: Ben Folds and a piano (a novel pairing if there ever was one), Zach Williams 8 p.m., Sold Out.

>> Velvet Lounge: Imperial China (***), Cephalopods (featuring Hugh from Black Eyes!), Miracles, and Busses. 10 p.m., $8.

>>DAR Constitution Hall: The Moody Blues. 8 p.m., $48-68.

>>Iota: Justin Jones, Down Dexter, and Peter Bradley Adams 8:30 p.m., $12.

SATURDAY

>> Dubbed the "No Rain" tour, Brooklyn's WOODS join Woodist labelmates Real Estate for a cross-country jaunt that will no doubt promote good vibes, tie-dye shirts and unruly facial hair. Tonight at the Rock and Roll Hotel they'll share the bill with yet another up-and-coming New Zealand band, Surf City. 9:30 p.m., $12.

>>Black Cat: The Soft Pack, Nodzzz, Beaters, and Foul Swoops, 9:00 p.m., $12.

>>Comet Ping Pong: Olivia Mancini, French Letter, and Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie. 10:30 p.m., $8.

>>Big Bear Café: The Beets, Eternal Summers, and Beach Fossils 7 p.m.

SUNDAY
>> However twee its name, Philadelphia's A Sunny Day in Glasgow has steadily proved that its more than just a domestic alternative to Belle & Sebastian. It's latest, the recently released Nitetime Rainbows EP, is yet another delicious slice of fuzzy sunshine that its feel-good moniker implies. With jangly Brooklynites Phil and The Osophers and Philadelphia's Faux Slang, 9 p.m., $10

>>6th & I Synagogue: The XX begin its very busy day alongside Nosaj Thing at 4:00 p.m. only to do it all over again with jj at 8 p.m. Both shows are long since sold out.
