A D.C. vice detective, already charged with first-degree murder in the death of a woman who was found dead earlier this week in Prince George's County, has now also been charged with manslaughter in the death of her 11-month-old daughter.

New charges against 41-year-old Richmond Phillips, who has served on the Metropolitan Police Department force for several years, were read today in court. Phillips stands accused of killing Wynetta Wright; prosecutors are also alleging that he left Wright's daughter, Jaylin, inside a car after committing the murder, leading to her death. Wright and Phillips had been battling over whether or not Phillips was actually Jaylin's father, but both Wright and the child went missing the night before a court date on the matter.

According to WUSA9, Wright's relatives shouted "monster" and "trash" during Phillips' court appearance today.

He has a wife and a 12-year-old daughter?  My word.... how his daughter must feel.... I can't even imagine.

  • She's so precious. How does a person do this?

Dip him in molasses and stake him out on a fireant hill.

  • too bad there aren't a lot of fire ants around here

They are migrating North. Lock him up 'till they arrive.
A dish best served cold, and all that. :)

The police will take this seriously. He will get 4 weeks suspension without pay instead of the usual 2 weeks.

I don't believe in hell, but cases like this make me wish that I did, because that is where this awful man belongs for all eternity.

In cases like these, they really should lock him in a car during a heat wave in the middle of an asphalt parking.  I don't care if this is cruel and unusual punishment because he didn't seem to think of that when he left that little girl in the car.

  • Hang. Him.

(And just think - while we're eliminating one scum sucking oxygen trap, we're doing it in an eco-friendly way, without even generating as much CO2 emissions as a google search!)

    Sickening.
