Sigh: Disbarred Birther Montgomery Blair Sibley Petitions Supreme Court on Obama's Birth Certificate
Montgomery Blair Sibley, a disbarred attorney waging a write-in campaign for president on the platform that Barack Obama isn't a natural-born U.S. citizen—facepalm, see birth certificate here—is now claiming he will force the issue before the U.S. Supreme Court.
In a press release, Sibley, whose campaign website features a large photo of him blowing into a bagpipe, announced he filed a petition with the high court claiming evidence that Obama wasn't born in the United States and that the birth certificate the White House released last year is a fake.
Sibley, who announced his campaign in early January, says his filing "procedurally forces the Supreme Court to declare whether they will take up the question of Obama’s eligibility." Should the justices refuse, the release continues, the court will have flouted the rule of law and proven that the U.S. government "is clearly being administered instead by the rule of whim and caprice." It's worth noting that Sibley has previously sued the Supreme Court for treason. Twice.
He's been disbarred from 13 federal courts and three state bars, and once spent 77 days in a Florida jail for failing to make child-support payments.
But perhaps his most notable accomplishment was representing Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the so-called "D.C. Madam." He's also been a backer of medical marijuana. His campaign platform includes the repeal of the 17th Amendment to the Constitution and ending the direct election of senators, and expanding the House of Representatives from 435 members to a clusterfuck of about 10,000.
